A few technicals in this version on the iPad: checkers get stuck more before dropping in and closing the app doesnt fix a game freeze. Watch that helpful spotlight before it decides your moves.

Ive tried a few backgammon games and this one is one of the worst Ive tried. First of all, theres no doubling cube. Secondly, the movement of the pieces is awkward. If you dont position the checker exactly right, it will sit halfway on to the next space. Game play is very slow too. This game needs improved controls, specifically, give the option to just click where we want the checker to go rather than having to drag it all over the screen. Again, theres no doubling cube, why? Put in a game speed option to pick up the pace. Id pass on this until game play is improved.

Been looking for a good backgammon variant, and I was pleasantly surprised. Gives a good game, nice graphics and the online multiplayer is an excellent bonus! For me, it was worth the money.

This is one of my favorite apps. The visuals are excellent. It closely mimics an actual backgammon board. It freezes up occasionally, but only occasionally. When this happens, I simply uninstall and then reinstall it. The pluses far outweigh this one minus! Have you considered making available a version for playing acey-deucey? That would be simply awesome! Thanks for a great app! Update Review -- About the update: I had high hopes that the freeze-ups would have been addressed in the update, but, alas, 4 freezes today and all when the opponent rolled doubles and either didnt seem to know how to start playing the doubles, or partially played them and then stopped. Please, could someone there teach him to play his doubles rolls every time.

The graphic styling of this backgammon game is very stylish, and the animation is very smooth. Its a very nice casual backgammon game. There is no doubling cube, thats true, but for the casual player, like my wife or myself, its perfect for a quick game between errands. Playing on the iPad is very comfortable, much more so than on the smaller iPod screen. I havent had trouble with the app itself, but a quick restart should cure any potential problems by clearing the iPads memory. All in all, its a good gaming experience, and very pleasing visually.

Nothing bad to say about the stability, graphics or interface. Would love to know how multiplayer looks but after 3 days of trying to get a game on line........... No one is home. I guess I am the only one who bought this. Playing against the machine is a joke. As the levels increase the play level does not improve. Just the machines rolls. Horrible strategy from the bot even at the hardest level. But still hard to beat when it rolls doubles 6 times in a row! The only way to improve your game with this app is to play other humans.....but I have already covered that havent I?

best backgammon game if you want to play on game center with a friend. in addition to adding doubling cube it would be great if you added support for fibs (internet bacgammon online community) . there is an app in the appstore that supports fibs but it is otherwise inferior to your app and it costs more. ps love that this works on both ipad and ipod/iphone.

The while point of paying for this ap was to be able to play remotely. The connection function does NOT work.

Doesnt connect P2P with Gamecenter or locally.

I bought this game specifically for the ability to play P2P online with friends. This function does not work AT ALL! I havent tried the bluetooth connection, but with all the bugs this game has, I seriously doubt that will work either. Not only does the P2P not work as advertised, but it crashes and freezes and you have to uninstall and reinstall and loose all of your game data in the process. I spent more than an hour today reinstalling and inviting a friend who did the same on their end.. all you get is a "waiting" and no connectivity at all. Ive uninstalled/reinstalled three times in an hour. It plays just fine with one player, and the graphics are the only selling point for this version. It will also crash/freeze when you select to play it from the game center itself. It will only play with one person and loading directly from the app itself. They need to release a new version that fixes all these issues asap for this to be worth the money you spend. WAIT TO BUY!!!!!

Bought for P2P - does NOT work. iPhone and iPad report "connected" using Bluetooth, then each one shows initial app wallpaper but nothing to select or choose from. No doubling cube Even on "very hard" level, strategy is poor Wish I had read reviews before buying; was with a sick relative who had on his iPad, thought we could play against each other to pass the time. No such luck...

Very nice but needs some updating for experienced players. Makes some moves of a novice.

It looks really nice, but when you play 2 player on one iPad it flips the board every turn which is really annoying. I wish I could stop it from doing that.

Constantly waiting for Friend to accept, when friend already has. Very frustrating!

Very nice game, great graphics and feel, I would like to see the dice thrown on the board in a realistic animation, but its not a deal breaker. Great Job.

Cheats: loads dice in its favor. News flash guys: THATS NOT GOOD AI. Aside from that, the games not too bad. Good graphics. Would like to see a doubling cube.

This version is beautiful to look at, but considering the price, it really needs an update. The cool animation and clicky noises only go so far. For a year Ive been waiting for at least point scoring (and ideally a running "high score" at each level), let alone a doubling cube. Just having a win or loss is getting old. Im not even going to get into the lousy random number generator. Save your money until this gets an overhaul.

Like the graphics, its been tricky to connect with a friend and you have to connect to friends through Game Center-which is annoying. Once you finally connect to your friend, and play a match, there is no option to instant rematch without having to go through the process of finding and connecting again. A good update would be able to keep count of wins between friends. Crashing is also a problem. I might try another online backgammon app. Bummer

If you want to waste ten minutes playing a pedestrian "running" game(no hits,re-entering from bar) this might be for you. Game play sloooow. The better to let the player to enjoy the"dazzling graphics, I guess. No Dbl cube. No stats. No matches. Single game only. Tedious animation before each game. Not for even a casual player. Update!

Crashes on start, requires device reboot before it will load. Needs iPhone5 4" screen update. Would be nice if doubling cube was an option and game play a bit more challenging.
