ArtDeco Backgammon 3D brings you Backgammon in visually stunning 3D. Enjoy an intuitive game with a tactile experience that makes you feel like you are playing on a real art deco themed board.
The ArtDeco theme of the game ties in with the history of Backgammon as it grew and evolved in the New York clubs and societies of the 1920s. In an effort to capture this essence we bring you the game of Backgammon in the
timeless style of ArtDeco.
With multiple levels of AI to suit beginners and more advanced players, many features make gameplay feel intuitive and easy. The autosave and resume feature allows you to play the game as it suits you. If you dont have time
to finish a round, dont fret. Just exit the game, the next time you start it up youll be back at the start of the round you were playing.
You can challenge other players with the Peer to Peer multiplayer functionality included in the game. Using GameCenter for online play, and Bluetooth connections for games with other local iOS devices.
NB: There is no match play option currently; the doubling cube, match play rules and options are not used at present.
Note that there is no competitive ranking in the online component as we are focused on casual gaming amongst friends.
*Online Multiplayer Checklist*
1. You need to have a GameCenter login.
2. You need to have GameCenter friends that also have this game.
3. You need to have an Internet connection that is not behind a firewall.
4. Via the Online P2P button - invite a friend to play.
5. To receive invites from your friends you will need to have notifications enabled.
6. For best results - turn off Bluetooth when you attempt to use the online features.
If these provisions are not met you will not be able to partake in online multiplayer.

Been waiting a long time for a good Backgammon app. Its finally here. Fantastic graphics and AI. It crashed once but when I started up the app I was able to finish the game. Sweet.
It would be nice to see an online version in a future update.
This game is for my wife. So I will update once she play a few game. But for what its worth, to me, this game looks beautiful. Well design.
One grip however, for me, is not being able to roll the dice. Being automated might make sense, please others, and wont change the outcome of the roll, but I dont feel like Im part of the game if I cant roll the dice. Even if I just click the dice. Maybe psychological but I want to roll my own dice.
Polished, nice grafx, sounds, and menu. AI at medium plays a smart game, unlike most other Backgammon apps. Please update with Hard difficulty for seasoned players, and at least the ability to play a 3 or 5 point match with a double cube. Recommended purchase at current price however very bare bones.

The lifelike sounds and recent update to a more difficult AI make this a challenging game for both novices and veterans. Given the developers attention to detail, its not hard to see that this is truly a labor of his love. Given the recent drop in the price point of this game, NOW is the best time to purchase a well-thought out and fun software.
Ive been searching for a backgammon game to play on my iPad--Ive read all the reviews for every game, and this seemed pretty nice, so I couldnt pass it up. Im a noob at backgammon, so the easy mode is a good way to learn how to play. I like the sounds, and the movement of the pieces. It looks OK at double-pixel resolution on the iPad, too, which is nice!
Simply put, this is by far THE BEST Backgammon game on the App Store! The AI is super slick. Smart as all get out, and the dice rolls are REALLY honest. If you love Backgammon DO NOT pass this one up! A MUST HAVE!
Some bad moments
good: somehow the game has a nice pseudo 3D graphic engine.
still the graphic seems to be kind of static and not rendered. Id call it "nice try"
Thats the best I can say about this app.
not so good:
- no dices to double
- no scoring
- no tournament rules
- very limited settings
- not user friendly user interface
- it alowed illegal moves (you can jump 4 fields if you have a double 2 even if the second field is blocked)
There are several other much better implementations of Backgammon available such as "Backgammon HD"
This game froze first time I played it. Paid $1.99 for an app I can not play. Dissapointed to say the least.
On hard the computer makes wrong and poor moves. I need an opponent not a proponent.
During game play, if you only need one of your dice values to get your last pip into your home quadrant, then you cannot use the other dice value to bare off. If you kill the app and restart at that point, then all your pips will be in your home quadrant and both dice values are available to bare off.
Some bare off moves that are allowed are against the rules. You get a role that you can only move pips in your home quadrant. You try to move a pip to the one slot and it ends up baring off, when you know that is not correct.
I had an older device with a flakey battery. I would start a game, get so far and the device would restart. When the device came back up, I would start the game again. The interesting thing, was that the dice roles were not random at all. Over and over the device would restart and over and over I tried to play the game. Every time the roles for both myself and the device were the same sequence of roles. This is impossible if your are truly generating random roles.
Wish I hadnt bought this app! If you want to play any one other than the computer ( which is so so even on the hard level) do not buy this app! I bought it to play family on our trips. They never mention there is absolutely no multiple player option. Also no doubling and some bad placement for keys which make play a hassle. Reported the problem and no respose. Needs work!
Updated: It wont do me any good but at least they took my suggestion below and lowered the price to .99. Reality as poorly implemented as this software is it should be free and I should be able to get a refund. Save your $$$ and do not buy this app. In my case this company wont get another cent from me.
If all you want to do is look at a pretty app then spend the money. If you want to have a quality backgammon game to play on your phone/touch - save your $$$ and dont buy this one. For design it ranks as great but that is all it is a pretty app. No settings for anything - level of play, rules, direction of play, option for tap and move and worst of all no doubling cube? This app should be free or .99 at the most until the developer adds the very basic features. Also the flashing prompt to end your turn is poorly located - difficult to select/activate.
I purchased it based on the review that indicated the AI was of good quality - cant say if it is or not too boring and unpleasant to play it enough to find it out. Had high hope but this app is not it.
