During game play, if you only need one of your dice values to get your last pip into your home quadrant, then you cannot use the other dice value to bare off. If you kill the app and restart at that point, then all your pips will be in your home quadrant and both dice values are available to bare off.

Some bare off moves that are allowed are against the rules. You get a role that you can only move pips in your home quadrant. You try to move a pip to the one slot and it ends up baring off, when you know that is not correct.

I had an older device with a flakey battery. I would start a game, get so far and the device would restart. When the device came back up, I would start the game again. The interesting thing, was that the dice roles were not random at all. Over and over the device would restart and over and over I tried to play the game. Every time the roles for both myself and the device were the same sequence of roles. This is impossible if your are truly generating random roles.
